«Snacktitud», payments for ecosystem services are a reality
The FSC forest certification group that we manage at Dendron has, through collaboration with Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® Spain) and its scheme for verifying the impact of forest management on ecosystem services, enabled Mondelēz to launch the “Snacktitude” campaign.
This campaign helps highlight activities aimed at improving our forests. Mondelēz is committed to sustainable and responsible forest management by carrying out fire prevention and forest improvement work on the 1,847 hectares of Valdeavellano, one of the forests in the Cañizares Owners’ Association, in the Serranía de Cuenca. These activities, which would be difficult to carry out without the help of this company, are crucial for climate change mitigation as they help keep 900,000 tons of CO2 stored in the Cañizares forests.
Additionally, Mondelēz encourages its customers to contribute to the positive impact of these fire prevention actions that would exacerbate climate change through the Dendron ESG website.
